SINGAPORE - Chinese actress Gong Li has become Singapore's citizen, local daily The Straits Times reported Monday.
The 43-year-old actress got her citizenship certificate at a ceremony held on Saturday along with 149 other new citizens, said the newspaper.
Gong, who was born in China's Liaoning province, had been scheduled to be sworn in as a Singapore citizen in August, but failed to attend the ceremony as she was filming a movie overseas, it added.
She married Singaporean tobacco businessman Ooi Hoe Seong in 1996.
