狐狸用奉承的办法骗取了乌鸦口中的肉，令乌鸦十分恼火，其实故事并没有结束。乌鸦上当以后，它发誓，一定要汲取教训，以后不要再被狐狸骗了。
The fox swindled the meat from the crow's mouth in a flattering way, which made the crow very annoyed.The story was not over. After the crow was fooled, it swore that it must learn from it so that wouldn't be fooled by the fox later.


 　　这天，乌鸦站在树上又叼着一块肉，准备美餐一顿。这时，狐狸悄然出现在树下。乌鸦心想：甭想打我的坏主意，有了上次的教训，我才不听你的奉承呢，你就是把我吹嘘成神仙也没有用。
One day, the crow stood on a tree with a piece of meat in its mouth preparing to enjoy a good dinner. Then, the fox quietly appeared under the tree. The crow thought you couldn't fool me and with the lesson of last time, I just wouldn't listen to your flattery, even if you would brag about me to become an immortal.


 　　正当乌鸦心里盘算着如何防备狐狸吹捧的时候，忽然听到狐狸说话了。狐狸说：“乌鸦你这个大傻瓜、大笨蛋、大白痴，你还记得上次你上了我的当，把美味白白地送给我的事吗？从这件事可以看出，你们乌鸦是天下最没有用的动物，你们有何颜面活在世上，不如死了算了。” 
As the crow contemplated in its mind how to guard against the fox, suddenly it heard the fox say: "Crow, you big fool and idiot, do you still remember the last time you were fooled by me and gave me the delicacy in vain? It can be seen from this matter that you crow is the most useless animal all over the world and how do you get a face to live in this world, not as good as dead.


　　听了狐狸这番话，乌鸦气得直哆嗦。它气愤地说：“你们狐狸坏事做尽，没有资格指责我们乌鸦。你们这些坏了心肠的家伙，早晚会得到报应的。”乌鸦还想继续往下说，可它忽然发现，自己的口中肉又落入了狐狸口中。狐狸露出了得意的笑容。
After hearing the fox's comments, the crow shook with anger. It said angrily: "You fox have done all the bad things, so you are not in a position to blame us crow. You malevolent guys will pay the price sooner or later." The crow still wanted to continue to go ahead, but it suddenly discovered that the meat in his mouth fell into the fox's mouth. The fox smiled in satisfaction.


 　　又上当了，乌鸦十分懊恼。它告诫自己，不但要有抵御奉承的能力，还要有抵御谩骂的能力。于是，乌鸦经常练习对付奉承和谩骂的本领。经过反复练习，乌鸦面对任何奉承和谩骂，都能做到泰然处之了。
Cheated again, the crow felt chagrined. It told itself that not only he should have the ability to resist flattery, but also have the ability to withstand abuse. So, the crow often practiced the power against flattery and abuse. After repeating practice, when facing any flattery and abuse, the crow could do it all in stride.


 　　日子一天天过去。这一天，树上的乌鸦又获得了一块肉。忽然，它发现狐狸正待在树下，立马提高了警惕，它告诫自己，不论狐狸说什么，自己坚决不开口，看它有什么办法。于是，它叼着肉静静地等待狐狸出招。 
The days passed. One day, the crow in the tree got a piece of meat again. Suddenly, it found that the fox was under a tree, so it immediately raised the alert and told itself, whatever the fox would say, it determined not to  speak to see what the fox would do. And therefore, it waited for the fox quietly with the meat in its mouth.


　　可是，乌鸦等了好久也没有听到狐狸说话。乌鸦心想是不是狐狸没有发现自己。必须让狐狸知道我叼着一块肉，让它表演一下花招，出一次丑。于是，它对狐狸说：“你有什么花招，赶快使出来吧。”没待它说完，猛然发现口中的肉又掉了下去。 
However, after waiting for a long time, the crow still did not hear the fox speak. The crow thought that maybe the fox didn't find it  and it must let the fox know it had a piece of meat in its mouth. Let the fox make a fool of itself. So, it said to the fox "Do you have any tricks? Show them." Before it finished its words, it suddenly found the meat in the mouth fell again.


　　天哪，又中计了。乌鸦捶胸顿足，但于事无补了。 
Goodness, the crow was fooled again. The crow beat its breast but it was in vain.


　　乌鸦对自己失望极了。于是，它找到了大象求教。大象说：“你屡屡被骗，是因为你自己有弱点，狐狸紧紧地抓住了你的弱点，于是便可随心所欲地骗取你口中的肉。无论狐狸用什么办法，都会赢你。其实，你真正的对手是自己，而不是狐狸。只要你战胜了自己，克服了弱点，狐狸也就无计可施了。” 
The crow was extremely disappointed in itself. So, it asked the elephant for help. The elephant said "You have been deceived for many times because you have a weakness, and the fox seized your weakness, so he could defraud the meat from your mouth as it wished. Whatever way the fox might use, it would win. In fact, the real opponent is yourself, not the fox. As long as you win over yourself and overcome your weakness, the fox could do nothing. "


真正的对手往往不是别人，而是自己。只要我们战胜了自己，克服了弱点，我们就会在竞争中取胜。
The real opponent is not others, but ourselves. As long as we win over ourselves and overcome the weakness, we will win in competition.
