The three-day holiday of the Dragon Boat Festival has (prompted) many Chinese people to make short domestic trips.
Tourism agencies have organized (tour) packages in Beijing and Tianjin, featuring the high-speed railway linking the two municipalities.
A package of tourism (vouchers) have also contributed to the increase in trips made in Beijing, Tianjin and (neighboring) Hebei province.
Wudadao, an eminent historic (block) with European style architecture located in Tianjin, has seen an increasing number of tourists during the holiday.
"Today, we have seen more than 10,000 (tourists). Most of them come from Beijing and Hebei province, accounting for nearly 90% of the (overall) tourist arrivals.“
In order to cope with the heavy (passenger) flow, railway authorities added 20 extra trains every day between Beijing and Tianjin during the holiday. And (nearly) every train was full to capacity.
Meanwhile, airports, train stations and long-distance bus stations (across) the country's tourist destinations have also seen peak passenger flows.
