3. A British lawmaker who (campaigned) for the  country to stay in the European union was killed Thursday, by a gun and knife wielding attacker in her small town constituency. Labor party legislator Jo Cox was attacked outside a library in northern England. The 41-year old praised the contribution of immigrants to Britain and championed the cause of Syria refugees.
4. Pop Francis welcomed a (circus) performers and animals for a show at the Vatican on Thursday. During the performance, Francis held the chance to caress the tiger cub and panther cub.
