During the continuing tit-for-tat exchange of rhetoric between the two Koreas,the president in Seoul has issued her (toughest) statement yet.President Park telling her Defense Minister during a meeting that there should be a strong response in initial (combat) without any political consideration if North Korea launches a (provocation) against the South.During a briefing for the president,the Ministry of National Defense outlined a new plan allowing the military to launch (pre-emptive strike) against North Korea should an (imminent) nuclear or missile attack on the South be detected, Steve Herman,VOA news,Seoul.

India's Supreme Court has rejected a patent bid by a Swiss drug maker Novartis for a cancer drug.In a ruling today,the court (dismissed) patent protection for an updated version of the drug Glivec,the ruling sets a precedent that prevents international (pharmaceutical) companies from (obtaining) new patents in India on updated versions of existing drugs. This does not mean that no patents will be granted, patents will continue to be granted by India,but (definitely),the (abusive) practice of getting many patents on one drug will be put at curb and that is very crucial to bring drugs into the public domain.
