Much of the line’s success is based on the (versatility)of its players. They can play more than one position and do (intricate) things. Such a moment came last Sunday during the third quarter of the 35-14 victory over Dallas when the Cowboys had the ball on their own 11.
It was third-and-19 because the defensive line had (squelched) a screen pass for a 12-yard loss. The Giants kept Kiwanuka at right end but moved Tuck to right tackle from left end. Robbins stayed at left tackle. Dave Tollefson came in at left end. Barry Cofield, a first-string tackle, (sat out the play).
As (quarterback) Brooks Bollinger took a long snap, the defensive linemen rushed with twists on both sides of the line. Tollefson and Robbins crossed paths on the left side while Kiwanuka and Tuck crossed over on the right. It was like watching a square dance, and it (baffled) the blockers as Tuck tackled Bollinger for an 8-yard loss.
