A ban (preventing) hundreds of candidates from standing in Iraq parliamentary election in March has been overturned. A move that could have defused tentions before the vote. The appeal panel dismissed the decision by electoral commission including 500 people because their alleged links with Saddam Hussien's Baath Party. While the list included (candidates) from cross devite, this decision would be seen primarily as a victory for Suni politicians. It felt disporportionly targeted by the ban.
