This World Series, already, is the most (compelling) in nearly a decade. For the first time since the Yankees played the Florida Marlins in 2003, we arrived at Game 5 knowing the series would end in another city. The hero is still out there, waiting to (reveal) himself.
“It’s best out of three,” said Albert Pujols, the St. Louis Cardinals (slugger), after the Texas Rangers won Game 4 on Sunday. “But that doesn’t mean we’re going to lose the Series if we don’t get it done tomorrow. We’ve got two games at home.”
The season will end in St. Louis because the National League won the All-Star Game in July. It was a four-run (margin) of victory, but the biggest blow came off the Rangers’ C. J. Wilson, who allowed a three-run homer to Prince Fielder of the Milwaukee Brewers and took the loss.
Wilson, who faced Chris Carpenter in Game 5 on Monday, is the only pitcher to lose in the All-Star Game, the division series, the League (Championship) Series and the World Series in the same year.
