英文除了说no，还能怎样霸气地将否定？

 

英文想说“肯定不行”、“一点儿也不”、“根本没可能”…… 除了no、not，还能怎样霸气表达否定的语气？

           

1. By no means

表示“决不”、“并没有”，可以用by no means，也可用not by any means或not by any manner of means。

例：This is by no means the first time we havehad this problem.

遇到这样的问题，我们决不是第一次了。                                            

 

2. Anything but

遇到有anything but出现的句子，小伙伴们可以考虑反着理解了，anything but表示“一点儿也不”、“根本不”。千万别把自己给绕晕了

例：He looked anything but happy.

他看上去一点儿也不高兴。

 

 

3. Not in the least

表示“丝毫都没有”、“一点儿也不”还可以用not in the least这个短语加重语气。比如人家问你：

Are you tired?

累了吗？

你就可以回答说：

Not in the least.

一点儿都不累。

整句话还可以说：Really, I'm not in the least tired.

真的，我一点儿都不累。

 

4. Out of the question

同样是表达否定的含义，out of the question倾向于表示：某件事根本不可能，不用说肯定不行。

例如：Another trip abroad this year is out of thequestion.

今年再出国一趟肯定是没戏了。

 

5. More than... can ...

要想表示一件事是某人力所不及、办不到的，可以用上这个搭配。

比如：bite off more than one can chew，意思就是“贪多嚼不烂”

你还可以说：The pain is more than I can stand.

疼得我实在受不了了。
