1. The 26-year-old American woman held by Islamic State (militants) has been confirmed dead. Kayla Mueller was working with Syrian refugees when she was captured in August 2013. In a statement released by her family, Mueller is remembered as compassionate humanitarian.
2. Law enforcement officials have (indicted) Jesse Matthew Jr. on a count of first-degree murder in the Hannah Graham case. Graham disappeared in September last year and was found dead a few days later. Matthew was also (charged) with abduction of the UVa student.
3. Dominique Strauss-Khan will stand for the first time Tuesday in a trial involving alleged prostitution raid. Prosecutors alleged the former International Monetary Fund boss participated in a sex party at (luxurious) hotels in France and the US. Strauss-Khan maintained that he was unaware women at those parties were prostitutes.
4. And Russia's President Vladimir Putin has (marked) his final day at a visit to Egypt. Putin received an artifact from his host, Egyptian president Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, and in return, Putin gave Sisi with a collection of classic rifle.
