1.  President Barack Obama joins former president George.W.Bush and many others at a memorial service to (mourn) the killing of five Dallas police officers. Obama says the shootings could appear to expose "the deepest fault line of our (democracy)" but the Americans must reject such despair.
2. Bernie Sanders has endorsed Hillary Clinton as the democratic nominee for president. Sanders called Clinton "far and away the best candidate" to (confront) the challenges facing the country.
3. Attorney of general Loretta Lynch defended her decision not to prosecute Hillary Clinton for her use a private email server as (secretary) of state. Testified on Capitol Hill, Lynch said she accepted the unanimous recommendation of career FBI investigators and attorneys.
4. Two commuter trains collided head-on in southern Italy, killing at least 22 people and injuring many more. Italy's premier is (pledging) a thorough investigation.
