Dear David and Ivy,

I am writing this letter to thank you two together with E-say for having improved my English greatly during the past six months.

First, it's my pleasure to express my heartfelt gratitude to Ivy, a kind-hearted, fully qualified, and lovely assistant teacher. With your efficient help, my course at E-say is going very well all along. Just like you say, you are absolutely an employee that every boss likes most because you can solve every problem that "boss" (here, ME) assign to you with the promptest response, and every minute I spend with you was simply full of great happiness and rich gain. I like you too;-)

Second and more importantly, I am deeply grateful to you, Dear David, a perfect conscientious English teacher at E-say with native pronunciation and sweet voices. Although I have been a university teacher for more than 8 years after the graduation of PhD, I have a so-called dumb English. Last November I chose E-say to make my N+1 attempt at English enhancement, which is proved finally to be the wisest decision absolutely in my life until now.

As you know, the improvement of English is gradual and not easy to see in a short time. Hence I didn't realize it until I was surprise to find I could catch every sentence of all the speeches when I attended an international academic conference in Nov, 2012. You can image how exciting I was at that time.

There are too many memorable experiences during the past few months after taking your English course. To cut my long story short, I would like to tell you that I got 6.5 in the oral party of my IELTS test I took on March 10, and my overall score is 6.0. As you know, I have taken the IELTS tests for two times in 2010, both with an overall score 5.5 and oral scores 5.0 and 5.5, respectively. However, it is quite clear to me that if I can follow your suggestion to spend some time in increasing vocabulary, it is not difficult for me to get an oral score of 7.0. You are a perfect teacher undoubtedly, but I am not good enough to accomplish what you have suggested to me for improving my English, especially on vocabulary. "Prepare a notebook, and make two sentences using each new vocabulary you meet every day." You see, I remember your suggestion clearly, but did nothing until now, which can be seen from this letter easily;-(

Furthermore, I have to say that my greatest gain accompanied with the change in English is my lost-and-found precious self-confidence. Everyone knows how important it is, but I have lost it for nearly 18 years. Now I can speak English very frequently and confidently to everyone, including my foreign students. Even only for it, I must treat you to express my deep gratitude.

By the way, I will give an English course next semester. I am sure I can do it perfect even though this is the first time for me to teach a Whole English Language course.  Yesterday, I visited the website of China Scholarship Council (CSC) to find that it is not difficult for me to get one from these projects provided that I can pass PEST5, a specific test to apply for international communication projects from CSC. I am sure I can pass it after I finish the new course for the TOEFL test that you teach. Or perhaps now? Obviously, the augmentation in English brings more available splendid opportunities to me.

To sum up, David, it is my great luck and honor to be your student. As you know, you have left me so many good memories, sweet voice, beautiful pronunciation, great patience, valuable suggestion on my project application, inherent strong self-confidence, and high spirits in respecting work. What impressed me most is certainly your sweet voice, which makes listening English records a great joy in my busy life in Shanghai.

Therefore, it is not surprise for me to know from you that many students of yours had achieved a big increase of scores in their exams with your whole-hearted guidance. By the way, I could easily feel your infinite happiness, pride and accomplishment when you were telling me good news from your students.

Finally, I have to say that I am very sorry that I have missed your phone call for four times without any notification in advance because of my carelessness. I am also very sorry for too little effort of mine into the past course. I promise you that I would devote myself more into the new course for the TOEFL test, which will begin at 6:00 pm today. What I can do to repay your great labor is just an equivalent substantive growth in English and also a visible high score for the test.

I must stop here because now it is 2:00 am. At the end of this letter, I would like to say from my experience that E-say is actually a great teaching method to improve English efficiently, although at the beginning I didn't think so. I think E-say's great success of being No. 1 phone English should thank to all the conscientious perfect teachers like David and Ivy.

Best wishes,

Sharey

PS: Dear David, I really hope my English writing can be enhanced with your help so that next time I can complete a better letter to show my thanks without spending so much time. Time is too EXPENSIVE!
